Instructor: Carole Osborne
Every woman's pregnancy is a unique experience that follows predictable developmental stages. While most adapt exquisitely and foster a healthy pregnancy, they often also experience common pain, discomforts and concerns.
In this foundational course, we will travel the trimester milestones of fetal development and maternal changes, using a hormonal map to chart these adaptations. We will pause and acknowledge the range of "pregnant feelings" and how such multi-dimensional transformations can be stressful as well as delightful. We?ll end up with a broad understanding of such practical considerations for massage therapy as:
levels of pressure
appropriate abdominal massage
use of lubricants
our powerful contribution as listeners, educators, stress reducers & oxytocin stimulators
